THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MASTURBATION AND PROSTATE CANCER IN MEN

There are some unfounded rumors that excessive masturbation (by men) may be responsible for the occurrence of prostate cancer in them. Could this be medically true?Medlandz_6

What happens when you masturbate?

People have been told all scary things about masturbation: Some said masturbators will go blind, hurt their bodies, become sexually sterile by running out of sperm, or even suffer depression from guilt because the act is sinful and dirty. All the above statements have been proved untrue. As a male, when you masturbate, you stimulate your genital to arouse yourself sexually in order to release sexual tension from your body. In the course of this, you will ejaculate or release semen from your body, which is composed of sperm and fluid. Note that not all masturbation produce semen. Hence, the often you masturbate, the frequent the amount of ejaculation you will get out of your body.

Prostate cancer and frequent ejaculation

However, there is a direct relationship between frequent ejaculation and the prostate cancer. According to some 18-year studies undertaken by researchers from Boston University School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, it was discovered that men who ejaculate at least 21 times a month have very low risk of prostate cancer. Though the researchers did not say that ejaculation frequently can prevent cancer, but it can lead to a reduction in the risk of having it. In other words, if you masturbate often and release semen frequently, you are less likely to have prostate cancer.

It is important to point out that the researchers did not pinpoint that the rate of ejaculation used in their studies comes only from masturbation because it could also have come from having a sexual relationship with your partner or girlfriend. But the fact remains the same: Frequent ejaculation leads to lower risk of having prostate cancer.
